Local Man Found Guilty of Homocide by Negligent Driving
Friday, February 17th, 2012 -- 11:40 AM
-A two day trial came to a conclusion yesterday on a local man who was involved in a crash that killed a woman.A Clark County Jury, after deliberating for 3.5 hours, found Dennis Martin guilty of homicide by negligent driving yesterday afternoon. Martin was accused of driving past a yield sign, while on his milk route, and colliding with Joan Beyer of Loyal, killing her.
A sentence was not immediately reached because the trial did run late into the day and an out of county judge informed the attorneys that he would contact them later with more information.
As this is a class G felony, Martin could face a maximum of 10 years in prison, $25,000 dollars in fines, or both. We will let you know more on the sentencing when it becomes available.
