Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill into law that will extend the time Wisconsin parents have to submit an application to send their children to a public school outside of their home district. The bill, signed today, will extend the public school open enrollment period from three weeks to three months. The new deadline is April 30 and will apply for the upcoming school year.
Walker says in a statement the new application period will empower parents to offer more opportunities for their children. Parents can submit applications starting Monday to send their children to up to three non-resident school districts.
