UNSEASONABLY MILD WINTER WEATHER
Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 -- 9:26 AM
Central Wisconsin and the whole upper Midwest is enjoying some very mild weather as we head into the month of February.According to Zach Taylor with the National Weather Service in LaCrosse all the cold, arctic air is bottled up in Canada and we're in the midst of a southwest flow of mild Pacific air that will persist for the rest of this week.
Highs are going to 10 ? 15 degrees above normal in our area and in parts of Iowa highs could reach into the 50?s and possibly low 60?s in southern and central Iowa.
Taylor says they are watching a developing system in the Rockies that could affect the Plains and upper Midwest this weekend. He said it's too early to tell now but it could bring some rain and possibly snow on the back side of the front.
