CLARK CO. RIGHT TO LIFE MARCH HELD SUNDAY

Monday, January 23rd, 2012 -- 9:17 AM

On a drizzly, cool Sunday afternoon around 33 people took part in the peaceful Clark County Right to Life Pro Life March yesterday in Neillsville.

Renee Shoen is president of Clark County Right To Life. She says the march is reasonably quiet and they are just trying to advocate that abortion is wrong but also trying to promote the positive side where there are alternatives like adoption and that fathers need help to and that Clark County Right To Life can provide help wherever they can.

The march began yesterday at the Living Hope Church on Hwy 10 east and proceeded west down Division St. then north on Hewett St. to the Hillside Community Church where the group warmed up a bit then they proceeded north to St. Mary?s Catholic Church.

Schoen says the march goes back a number of years and the 33 who participated in the march on Sunday was about average. She says in the 12 years that she has been president they've had as many as 80 and as few as 12 when there was a blizzard. She added that they march each year no matter what the weather.

Sunday, January 22nd marked the 39th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion in the U.S.
