Golfing in January?? In Wisconsin??

How about this weather, folks! Record or near-record highs are expected Monday and Tuesday. We don?t know of any courses that are open around here, but golfers in Milwaukee are taking advantage of this unseasonably mild winter by hitting the links.
Milwaukee Parks director Sue Black tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the past weekend was a great weekend for golf. They have seven course open and over 1,200 golfers teed it up over the weekend.
From the National Weather Service:
After 2 consecutive days of record and near-record warm temperatures last week, another round of unseasonable warmth for the Upper Midwest is expected today and Tuesday. The combination of the lack of snow cover, increasing southwesterly winds, and abundant sunshine will drive temperatures to between 40 and 50 degrees today, and to the mid 40s to low 50s on Tuesday. These forecasted highs are 20 to 25 degrees above normal for early to mid January. A cold front is expected to cross the region Wednesday, ending our recent warm spell and bringing temperatures to more seasonable levels on Thursday.
