Fire Chief: Keep Fire Numbers Clean
Friday, December 9th, 2011 -- 12:22 PM
The Neillsville Fire Department was called out to the scene of a chimney fire near Christie Thursday. They were initially dispatched at 12:40 p.m. to a home at W6059 Wildwood Road in the town of Weston, says Fire Chief Matt Meyer.
The crew cleaned the chimney and spent about an hour on the scene. They were called back to that location later in the day, but there was no fire.
Meyer reminds area residents to make sure their fire numbers are clean of ice and snow. He says the crew had difficulty finding the residence yesterday because the fire number wasn?t readable.
