If you've been shopping lately, it will come as no surprise the cost of your Thanksgiving meal will be higher this year. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau's annual survey shows the average price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for ten people is up to over $50 this year, an 11 percent increase from last year.
Farm Bureau spokesman Casey Langan says a nutritious Thanksgiving meal is still a much better value than a stop at a fast food restaurant.
The survey included the current prices of cranberries, potatoes, peas, rolls and milk.
The American Farm Bureau Federation says the average national price is about $49.
The average price for a 16-pound turkey is $23.20 in Wisconsin and about $21.60 nationwide.
