AREA FARM GETS AID TO TURN MANURE INTO FUEL

An area farm is getting some help from the USDA to install a machine that will turn manure into fuel.The USDA is funding anaerobic digester projects in eight states.
One of the biodigesters announced on Wednesday will be constructed on Heller Farms near Alma Center in Jackson County. It is expected to produce 3.3 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy each year, enough to power 400 average Wisconsin homes per year.
Digesters also will be constructed in Pennsylvania, Idaho, Iowa, Florida, Oregon, Ohio and Vermont.
