A federal magistrate has pushed back the deadline to complete a competency exam of a Marshfield man accused of threatening workers at an abortion clinic.According to court documents, 63-year-old Ralph Lang was arrested in May at a Madison motel after his handgun accidentally discharged, shooting through a door, across a hallway and into another room. No one was hurt.
Lang allegedly told authorities he traveled to Madison to ?lay out? abortion clinic workers, who he accused of killing babies.
A mental competency exam was ordered finished by October 7th, but a court official recently granted a 30-day extension.
Lang faces a federal misdemeanor and a state felony charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
