From Matt Lehman, WRN:What you throw away in the trash can and will be used against you in a court of law, as three Merrill residents facing drug charges found out this week.
Police built their case against the suspects by searching through the trash that they had put out on the curb for pickup each week in September.
The evidence they found inside, including syringes and empty prescription pill bottles gave them enough to get a search warrant which they executed Monday.
The three suspects are now facing charges of possessing methamphetamine and morphine. One is also charged with maintaining a drug trafficking place. Those arrested were 42-year-old George Hill, 30-year-old LeAnna Wells, and 26-year-old Melissa Lemke.
Police have also taken a 6-year-old child living in the home into protective custody.
