An area manufacturer has big plans for its Neillsville operation. As we?ve reported, Fabricating Specialists, a Division of Mayville Engineering, officially purchased the former Leeson Electric North and South buildings this week. They had been leasing the south building since 2008 and they've grown their workforce to 85 employees.
"Business has been very good," exclaims Jim Grunewald, vice president and general manager of Fabricating Specialists. "We have a lot of customer relationships that we've built through Mayville Engineering and those continue to grow and prosper and we see a nice, bright future ahead for us."
Grunewald projects they?ll hire an additional 150 new employees over the next three to four years, with the first new hires happening in second quarter of 2012.
"There would be a need for people that can operate CNC tube-bending machines, people that can do end finishing, general manufacturing and welding, as well," he notes.
Other manufacturers in the area have had trouble finding skilled labor, lately. Grunewald says they're just looking for motivated people that are willing to work hard.
"If there's additional training needed, we'll be happy to go ahead and invest that time and dollars to make that happen," Grunewald says, noting he envisions working with Chippewa Valley Technical College to train employees.
"We're very confident there are folks that want to work, and we'd sure love to give them the opportunity."
Fabricating Specialists manufacturers engine components and structural parts for the agriculture, construction and military industries.
