A troubled former state politician is back behind bars for allegedly violating terms of his probation.Rep. Jeff Wood was arrested on Monday in Chippewa Falls. Police are investigating an allegation that Wood altered one of his prescriptions to obtain more medication.
The type of medication has not been released, but authorities say it was in a class of drugs that include cough syrups and prescription decongestants. When Wood was arrested in 2009 in Marathon County, he had eight times the recommended dosage of cough syrup in his system.
Last week's report came one week after Wood completed his sentence for 5th offense operating under the influence in Monroe County.
