A major area employer faces OSHA citations after an employee?s hand became stuck in a machine in March.Marshfield DoorSystems was cited with one repeat and two alleged serious violations and could pay $46,200 in penalites.
The Marshfield NewsHerald says the worker?s hand got caught in an "ingoing nip point" on a conveyor belt line and suffered contusions, abrasions and friction burns.
OSHA says the company failed to install basic machine guards that could have prevented the injuries.
MDS was recently purchased by Masonite Inc., a commercial door manufacturer in Tampa, Fla.
