GOV. WALKER TO TOUR DAMAGE; VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Governor Scott Walker planned to meet with local officials Thursday morning and tour damage from Tuesday?s storms.The National Weather Service in La Crosse confirmed a tornado touched down in central Clark County Tuesday evening.
Clark County Emergency Management reports that four homes were destroyed, two sustained major damage and 17 received minor damage. In addition, four barns and 15 outbuildings were destroyed with numerous others damaged.
The Clark County Sheriff?s Department has identified the man who died during the storm Tuesday night.
Officials say 75-year-old William Nickel of Granton, who was on an oxygen machine, passed away after the storm knocked out power.
Anyone interested in assisting with tornado clean up can go to the Town of Fremont, Town Hall at N5671 Oak Street in Chili. The Chili Fire Department and Salvation Army will be coordinating volunteers with clean up projects. Volunteer opportunities are from 9 am ? 7 pm today and Friday. You must be over 18 years of age, or if accompanied by a parent can be 16 years, to volunteer. Volunteers should wear work boots or closed toed shoes, long pants and bring work gloves. Also, a reminder to pack sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks and/ or lunch depending on how long you would like to help.
