A convicted murderer and sex offender might be going back to prison for a couple months after violating conditions of his extended supervision.Gary Thiede, who?s been residing south of Neillsville in the Town of Washburn, was arrested Tuesday.
Department of Corrections spokesperson Tim LeMond says Thiede admitted to viewing pornographic images on his cell phone. Officials are using several investigative tools to look into other possible violations, all dealing with viewing pornographic materials.
LeMond says there is no evidence Thiede broke the law, but he did violate conditions of his supervision.
Thiede will likely have to go back to prison for several months to receive further treatment.
LeMond says his living arrangements after he?s released are completely unknown, as the state will not continue to rent his current home on Blueberry Road while he?s confined.
There is also a chance that Thiede will not be required to live in Clark County when he?s released, but it?s to early to tell.
He was convicted of the 1988 murder of 16-year-old Robert Aponte in Jackson County. He was later convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he knew in Clark County.
