NEW THORP MAYOR ELECTED

Residents of Thorp have a new Mayor.Ray Stroinski was elected Tuesday. He?ll replace embattled mayor Craig Jiskra, who resigned in June. Jiskra faces charges in two counties stemming from domestic disputes with his estranged wife.
Stroinski was the only person on the ballot for the special election. He received 80 of 92 votes. He will serve out the rest of Jiskra's term, which ends in April.
