HERITAGE DAYS CONCLUDES

Monday, July 11th, 2011 -- 11:38 AM

Neillsville?s Heritage Days Festival concluded Sunday.

Here?s a recap of some of the events.

On Saturday night, a new Miss Neillsville was crowned at a coronation at the High School auditorium.

Savannah Brown was sponsored by the Neillsville FFA Alumni. She said she was honored to be selected to represent the city for the next year.

"I was so excited," she bubbled. "I wanted to see the envelope so bad, with my name on it."

Candidates created a scrapbook about their lives, were interviewed and gave one final speech at the coronation.

Brown said she?ll have no trouble representing the community, which she says it?s very friendly.

"It's nice and small and everyone always has a smile on their face," Brown said.

Her court will consist of 1st Princess Jade Gross, 2nd Princess Morgan Pankratz and Miss Congeniality Sierra Coulthard.

Olivia Friemoth was randomly selected to be the 2011 Little Miss Neillsville. Her court will consist of 1st princess Malana Gurney and 2nd princess Topanga Hanson.

Also over the weekend, a number of area quilters participated in the annual Quilt Show. The Mayor?s Choice Award was won by Eileen Buckholz. 1st place was won by Carol Block of Greenwood; 2nd place by Sue Tyler of Humbird; and 3rd place by Dawn Voss of Neillsville.

Michelle Pickett won the 2nd annual Neillsville Heritage Days Trivia Walk.
