COUNTY BOARD MEMBER RECEIVES SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE

Saturday, June 25th, 2011 -- 8:27 AM

A Clark County Board Supervisor is concerned the rhetoric around the comprehensive plan has crossed a line and could boil out of control.

On Wednesday, Greenwood area supervisor Jim Rahm told the Clark County Board he and a number of other plan supporters received an anonymously sent package in the mail. He took it to be a threat or an attempt to intimidate board members. He worries this type of behavior will prevent others from wanting to serve on any elected board.

Rahm says residents have every right to voice their opposition to board actions, and he has no trouble receiving phone calls either for or against his votes. The incident is under investigation, so Rahm doesn?t want to divulge any other information about what was in the package.

The board approved the second reading of the ordinance at their meeting on Wednesday night. The plan still needs one more reading, which will likely happen next month.

Plan opponents say the planning process is part of the United Nations? Agenda 21 plan to form a one-world government.
