Marathon County is counting down the days until they host Farm Technology Days. There were 21 days left, as of Tuesday.
Volunteer coordinator Diane Borchardt says the plans are coming together for the show at Seehafer Acres, north of Marshfield July 12, 13 and 14.
"A tent went up yesterday, so Tent City is staked out, excavating has been done," she explains. "We're just waiting for the hay to grow and the rain to stop."
Organizers expect between 60,000 and 80,000 visitors from all over Wisconsin and the Midwest. Well over 800 exhibitors have signed up.
Borchardt is still looking for volunteers.
"We have roughly 1,400 volunteers. We're just in need of about 50 people yet to help in the parking lots," she notes. "That's a very important job."
Volunteers can do half-day shifts, if they want.
Organizing committees have been working for three years to put on the show, billed as one of the largest farm shows in the country.
