BIG CHANGES FOR CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS?

There could be some huge changes in store for the state's congressional districts?and Clark County would be right in the middle of them.According to an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a proposed redistricting map has surfaced, apparently drawn with the help of Republican Representative Paul Ryan.
The map, which hasn?t officially been released to the public, would protect House freshman Sean Duffy by carving out a Democratic chunk of central Wisconsin, including the cities of Stevens Point, Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids. It would shift largely Republican areas of Ron Kind?s 3rd district into Duffy?s 7th district.
Under the proposed map, Duffy would represent all of Clark County. In one of the oddities of the plan, Kind?s district would travel through a corridor and the wrap around the 7th district by picking up Portage County.
It will be up to the Republican-controlled state Legislature to settle on the final lines.
