FORMER MARSHFIELD OFFICIAL GUILTY OF EMBEZZLEMENT

A former executive director of the Marshfield Community Development Authority pleaded guilty Wednesday to embezzling money from the group.According to federal prosecutors, Timothy Kraus, 48, took around $10,000 from the CDA. Kraus admitted that he increased his compensation without board approval and put funds into a bank account also without board authorization.
U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb set Kraus? sentencing for Sept. 5.
He could spend 10 years in prison, pay a $250,000 fine, serve three years supervised release and pay restitution.
