MARSHFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSES READING MARK

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 -- 1:54 PM

Eighty-nine Wisconsin schools along with the Milwaukee, Madison and Racine districts are on a state list for repeatedly failing to meet the federal No Child Left Behind law.

One area school made the list for missing its Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals for reading.

The schools made the list released Tuesday under the more serious ranking of "schools identified for improvement" for failing to make adequate progress in the same category for two consecutive years.

Also, 228 schools and six districts were identified for missing at least one of the standards for the first time.

In our area, Marshfield Middle School was noted as missing is progress goals for reading.
