GRANTON F.D. CALLED TO BARN FIRE

The Granton Fire Department was called to the scene of a barn fire Monday afternoon.According to Assistant Granton Fire Chief Jason Strey, the building was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived shortly after noon.
The building was a total loss, but the cattle were able to get out of the building. The firefighters were also able to protect neighboring building, despite heavy winds.
The Neillsville Fire Department provided tanker assistance and manpower, while the Chili Fire Department also provided tanker assistance. No one was hurt and Strey wasn't sure what caused the fire. Firefighters spent about 4 hours on the scene.
