KIDS LEARN RURAL SAFETY

About 250 3rd graders from schools all over Clark County are spending time at the Fairgrounds today to learn how to keep themselves safe.Clark County UW-Extension is holding their annual Rural Safety Day.
"It's put on by UW-Extension (and) the Clark County 4-H," said 4-H Youth Development coordinator Sara Gronski. "Our goal is just to create a bunch of sessions for our youth to teach about safety issues they might encounter on a daily basis."
There were six different stations set up, each teaching a different message: everything from staying away from power lines to gun safety.
Plus, the all-important farm safety. "We have PTO safety, tractor safety. Gravity box safety, and not to play around them," Gronski explained.
Memorial Medical Center, Tractor Central, Clark Electric and Clark County Public Health are among the outside groups assisting with the demonstrations today.
