Tuesday, March 29th, 2011 -- 10:19 AM

The test results are back, and one area school is passing with flying colors.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released results from this school year?s Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS) testing Tuesday. Students took the tests in the fall.

They measure students? aptitude in Science, Social Studies, Reading, Language and Mathematics.

The Greenwood School District had test results above the statewide averages in every single category.

"We are very pleased with the academic achievements of our students," boasts Jennifer Vogler, district administrator and elementary principal at Greenwood. "They were extremely successful this year with phenomenal test results."

The results are especially impressive when compared to other districts in the area.

There are several ways to analyze the data.

When looking at the ?advanced + proficient? results on a whole-school basis?as opposed to individual grades?Neillsville, Granton and Loyal students tested below the statewide averages in every category, accept science, where Neillsville students tested slightly above the average.

Vogler credits the staff and community for the success.

"(We have) excellent educators. We have that community support here with the passing with the past referendum, which shows the commitment and the dedication that our parents and community members have to maintain what we have in place," Vogler notes.

"You can see from our test results that our students and staff have been working exceptionally well."

Vogler notes that 6th graders were 100% advanced or proficient in both reading and mathematics.
