CLARK CO. UNEMPLOYMENT RATE UP IN JANUARY

Clark County?s unemployment rate jumped nearly 2% from December to January, according to new data released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.Clark County?s jobless rate increased from 8.5% in December to 10.1% in January. The January rate is about 3% better than it was in January 2010. It is the 25th highest unemployment rate in the state.
Dane County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate at 5.3%. Door County has the heist rate at 13.3%.
Elsewhere around the area, Wood County has a rate of 8.8%; Marathon County has a rate of 8.2%; Jackson County has a rate of 10.3%; and Taylor County has a rate of 10.8%.
