CLARK COUNTY POPULATION STAGNANT
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 -- 12:13 PM
Clark County?s population hasn?t moved much over the past 10 years; or the past 100 years, for that matter. While the official tallies won?t be released for a few weeks, the U.S. Census Bureau has released its 2010 population estimates for the nation?s counties.
According to the data, Clark County?s population actually decreased by over 200 people from 2000 to 2010. The estimated population now is 33,384.
In fact, the county?s population has only increased by about 3,300 since 1910?a difference of only about 11%.
The Population Estimates Program publishes total resident population estimates and demographic components of change each year. The numbers are different than the actual census numbers, which should be released by April 1.
