WISCONSIN FIRST IN GOAT MILK PRODUCTION

New numbers released by the Wisconsin Ag Statistics Service confirm that the state remained the nation's leader in milk goat inventory and milk goat production during 2010. According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, as of January 1, there were 50,000 head of does, bucks and kids on state farms. That's up 3,000 head from a year ago. Wisconsin's meat and other goats totaled 21,000 head, an increase of 3,000 from last year.
