CLARK CO. UNEMPLOYMENT PICTURE IMPROVES FROM '09

Clark County?s unemployment rate is a lot better than it was last year at this time, but still higher than all but 24 counties in the state.The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development's employment outlook for December of 2010 shows Clark County?s unemployment rate was 8.5%, up from 7.9% in November, but down from 10.2% in December of 2009.
Clark County had the 25th highest unemployment among the state's 72 counties. Menominee County had the highest at 12.5%; Dane County had the lowest at 4.6%
Elsewhere in the region, Wood County?s unemployment rate was 7.1%; Taylor County?s rate was 9.3%; Jackson County?s rate was 8.0% and Marathon County?s rate was 7.1%.
