DONORS RESPOND AFTER CHURCH BURGLARY
Friday, January 7th, 2011 -- 2:19 PM
Donors have been generous in the wake of a church burglary in Chippewa Falls.Someone made off with tens of thousands of dollars collected during six Christmas services at the church. Some of that money was earmarked for an orphanage in Peru.
Since then, donors have given more than $15,000 to St. Charles Borromeo Church. Another area church matched $4,000 of those contributions, putting the total collected at around $20,000.
Church leaders presented the donations at the missions office of the Diocese of La Crosse on Thursday.
