Will the Loyal School Board take another shot at passing a referendum? The topic will be discussed at their meeting next Wednesday.
In November, residents voted 2-1 against a 4-year, $697,000 per year revenue cap exemption.
That followed the failure of a 3-year, $500,000 per year referendum in spring of 2009. Before the most recent referendum failure, the school board promised to make massive cuts if the exemption didn?t pass. The board will discuss those possible cuts at next week?s meeting.
The Loyal Board would have to approve the referendum by February 22 and get the language to the Clark County Clerk?s office by February 23rd in order to have the measure voted on in April.
