The filing deadline for the Spring Election came and went Tuesday afternoon.There will be a February 15th Primary for a spot on the Loyal School Board.
Three candidates have come forward to run for the board seat representing the area of the district south of STH 98. Rick Rueth, Tom Odeen and Geoff Weinfurtner will vie to replace current board member Joel Luttrop, who is not seeking reelection. Joe Cuminale is the lone person seeking the open board seat representing the city of Loyal.
Neillsville School Board member Deanna Heimen will be unopposed in April.
Three current Neillsville City Council members will run unopposed for their seats. 1st ward alderman Chuck Glassbrenner, 2nd ward representative Steve Mabie and 5th ward alderman Daryn Horn are up for election.
There will be a race for Mayor in the City of Loyal as Dan Campbell and Mike Hayes will square off. The two will vie to replace Carol Lampsa, who is not seeking reelection. There will be no contested races on the Loyal City Council. Dave Williams and Ralph Schmitt will seek reelection to represent Wards 2 and 3. Betty Gluch-Voss and Carmen Englebretson will seek reelection to represent Ward 1.
There won?t be any contested races in the City of Greenwood. Incumbents Charles Susa and John Fitzl will seek reelection to their respective positions.
