CHOICES FORMING FOR SPRING ELECTION

The deadline for would-be candidates for the Spring Election is getting closer. A number of local races will be on the ballot, including municipalities and school boards.Neillsville school board member Deanna Heiman is up for reelection. So far no one else has filed to run for the seat.
Loyal will have two school board spots up for reelection. Joel Luttrop is not seeking reelection to his seat representing the area south of STH 98. A position representing the city of Loyal is also open and up for reelection.
Granton will have at least one new school board member. Lois Garbisch is not seeking reelection to her post. Jeff Andrews is also up for reelection. No one has returned nomination papers for those spots.
Here in the City of Neillsville 1st ward alderman Chuck Glassbrenner, 2nd ward representative Steve Mabie and 5th ward alderman Daryn Horn are up for election. So far, only Mabie has returned his intent to run forms.
January 4th is the deadline for candidates to return their paperwork.
