WISCONSIN COMPANY WITH NEILLSVILLE SUBSIDIARY IS EXPANDING

Saturday, December 25th, 2010 -- 6:22 AM

A Wisconsin-based company with a subsidiary in Neillsville is expanding to Wautoma.
Mayville Engineering Company says it's purchased the former Cummins Filtration facility, which was shut down in March 2009.
WLUK-TV reports the contract manufacturing company plans to hire around 100 employees by the end of 2011 and expects to more than double that number within the next three years.
MEC is headquartered in Mayville and has six other facilities in Wisconsin. The Wautoma facility will house welding, brake forming, laser cutting, and machining production areas.
Mayville Engineering is the parent company of Neillsville-based Fabricating Specialists.
-- Polaris Industries Inc. has told Wisconsin officials it will start shutting down operations at its plant in Osceola (ahss-see-OH'-luh) on March 1.
In a filing released Thursday by the Department of Workforce Development, Polaris says more than 480 employees will be affected as the plant in western Wisconsin shuts down over six months. The company says it's taking steps to minimize job loss and help employees with the transition.
