HIGHER GAS PRICES FOR HOLIDAY TRAVELERS

Gas prices are a good .40-cents higher than they were last year at this time, but AAA Wisconsin says people are still planning to travel for the holidays.AAA Wisconsin says the average trip to share a Christmas meal, exchange gifts and otherwise celebrate the holidays will involve an average 1,052-mile trip at a cost of $694 ? about 3.5% more money than people spent at this time in 2009.
Wisconsingasprices.com reports the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded is about $3.00 today. Prices in Neillsville are right around $3.05.
Prices last Christmas were in the mid-$2.57 range.
