NEILLSVILLE KIDS GET IN HOLIDAY SPIRIT
Friday, December 17th, 2010 -- 12:43 PM
Neillsville elementary students are spreading the Holiday spirit this year."Our elementary POPS decided to make cards and decorations for senior citizens at the nursing home and those that participate in meals on wheels," explains 1st grade teacher Jo Ann Hauge.
POPS stands for ?Power of Positive Students.?
Hauge says the kids learn a lot about the true meaning of the season.
"We've talked about giving from the heart. A homemade gift is something we can give from the heart," Hauge says.
The kids have enjoyed the project. "It is enjoyable. The kids are a little bit crazy and wild, but they love the activities. It's just a fun time," she says.
The cards and decorations were slated to be delivered to residents of Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation today.
