MAJOR WINTER STORM HITS AREA

The first major winter storm of the seaon hit our area on Saturday and Saturday night with significant snowfall amounts and strong winds. The winter storm warning is now in effect until noon today.*WIDESPREAD BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE
WHITEOUT CONDITIONS THIS MORNING. SNOWFALL TOTALS HAVE RANGED
FROM 14 TO 23 INCHES ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.
* WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING
AND DRIFTING SNOW AND REDUCE VISIBILITIES...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
AREAS AND ON RIDGE TOPS.
* TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED AND SHOULD BE FOR EMERGENCY
