Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 -- 11:06 AM
We might get our first real taste of winter weather this week.A winter storm will bear down on the region Friday, exiting southeast by Saturday evening. Significant snowfall is expected as the storm moves through, with some locations receiving 5 to 9 inches.
Current indications are that the main snow band with this storm will fall from central Minnesota, across northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, and into northern Illinois.
Right now, the National Weather Service has us in a band scheduled to get between 4-6 inches.
