Pittsville Native Wins 2021 Excellence in Agriculture Award.

A Pittsville native who now works in Kansas as a farm communications specialist is the American Farm Bureau's winner of the 2021 Excellence in Agriculture Award.

According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, Jackie Mundt received the honor on Wednesday during the group's annual meeting, being held virtually this week.  Mundt is the marketing manager at Kanza Cooperative Association in Wichita. She is a graduate of California State University-Fresno and served as a state FFA officer from Wisconsin prior to being named national FFA president in 2004-05. She was also the AFBF's Discussion Meet winner during last year's convention.

For her efforts, Jackie will receive a new Ford truck and paid registration to the Farm Bureau's FUSION Conference in March.  The Excellence in Agriculture Award recognizes members between the ages of 18 and 35 who are actively engaged in agriculture, but derives the majority of their income from an off-farm agricultural career.
