Minneapolis Man Appears in Eau Claire County Court for Multi-County, High Speed Chase

A Minneapolis man arrested after a multi-county, high speed chase appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Thursday.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, back in July, state troopers noticed a vehicle traveling 103 mph on I-94 in Jackson County.  Troopers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver, Devante Hatten, fled and the pursuit continued.

Hatten reached speeds as high as 130 mph.  Hatten was eventually taken into custody after tire deflation devices were used.  The vehicle he was driving had been stolen.

Hatten is facing charges of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, attempting to flee an officer, and possess an illegally obtained prescription.  During his arraignment on Thursday, he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.  He’s scheduled to be back in court on April 9th.
