FARM TECH DAYS COMING TO MARSHFIELD AREA
Friday, October 15th, 2010 -- 11:41 AM
Central Wisconsin got its first look Friday night at the site of next summer'sFarm Technology Days in Marathon County.
Ken and Karen Seehafer hosted a "sneak peek" event, at their farm just north
of Marshfield.
"It's very successful," Karen said. "A lot of people have come out to the farm to see what's going to happen in 2001."
Marathon County officials have been planning for the show for about the past
two years. But Ken says he's been preparing for a lifetime, saying it's
something he's always wanted to do.
"We've always taken a lot of pride in home-ground improvements. People say, 'why would you want to do that?', I say why not," Ken said. "It's a chance of a lifetime. In my little world, it's like going to the Super Bowl."
The Seehafers milk about 250 cows and farm nearly 900 acres. Farm
Technology Days runs July 12th to the 14th. It will be the third time
Marathon County has hosted the show. The first time was in the mid-70's,
and the last time was in 1996.
