WOMAN INJURED AFTER FALL FROM WAGON

A 23-year-old woman was severely injured after she fell off a hay wagon in Trempealeau County. It happened near Ettrick.The tractor was operated by a 29-year-old male. The victim in the accident lost balance, and had fallen off the wagon. The tire(s) from the wagon rolled over the victim's body after falling. The victim had severe head and leg injuries sustained in the accident. The victim was flown to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse for life threatening injuries.
The driver fled the scene and was later located and arrested. Alcohol was a factor in the accident. This incident is still under investigation by the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department.
