CLARK CO. PREPARES BUDGET
Friday, September 3rd, 2010 -- 11:02 AM
The air has turned crisp? and that can only mean one thing for area governments: it?s budget time.Clark County Finance Director Teri Domaszek says work on the county budget will begin next Tuesday. Department heads have been directed to try to present a zero-percent increase to their non-personnel expenses.
The County Board will get their first look at the budget during a meeting on October 1. The budget hearing is slated to November 9.
Domaszek says the county is actually in pretty good shape heading into the process. They?re not facing much of a deficit, thanks in part to the revenue from the half-percent sales tax that went in place last year.
