CLARK CO. JOINS PUSH TO DELIST WOLF
Monday, July 26th, 2010 -- 10:39 AM
The Clark County Board of Supervisors wants to see the Gray Wolf delisted. The animal is currently listed as an endangered species by the federal government; therefore, the state cannot manage the wolf population or attempt to control depredation of livestock and pets.
The board passed a resolution Thursday night officially requesting the state use all legal resources to pursue the delisting of the Gray Wolf in Wisconsin. The resolution also calls on the DNR to take another look at their population goal of 350 animals.
The requests were sent to a number of state and local leaders, including Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
