JOBLESS RATE IMPROVES IN CLARK CO., STATE

Clark County?s unemployment picture was a bit rosier in the May.The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released their local jobless report this week. It showed Clark County has the 27th highest unemployment rate at 8.5%, down from 9.8% the month before, and 9.0% in May 2009.
Elsewhere in the area, Taylor County has the 8th highest rate in the state at 9.5%; Jackson County ranks 46th with a rate of 7.4%; Marathon County ranks 34th at 8.2% and Wood County ranks 39th at 7.9%.
All but one of the state's 72 counties showed improvement last month. Grant County stayed steady.
