COMMUNITY MEETING ON THIEDE PLANNED
Monday, June 21st, 2010 -- 11:50 AM
He?s been out of prison since December, but Gary Thiede still hasn?t found a suitable place to live. Now law enforcement have planned a special meeting to discuss the situation with the public.Thiede has served a prison sentence for 2nd degree murder, 3rd degree sexual assault and attempted child enticement. He was convicted of the 1988 murder of a 16-year-old boy from Hatfield. He is a level 3 sex offender, who officials say has the potential to re-offend.
He was released from prison in December, but has been residing in the Clark County jail pending his ability to locate a suitable residence.
According to a press release, the Clark County Sex Offender Release Core Team will hold a community notification meeting from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on June 30. This meeting will be held at York Town Hall.
Officials say they will offer more information about the community notification law and more detailed information regarding Thiede?s offense history. Information about protective behaviors and personal safety will also be discussed.
Last month, Thiede was set to be released from jail to live at an address in the Town of York, just west of the intersection of CTH C and CTH K. The landlords backed out of the arrangement at the last minute.
