FORMER BRF OFFICIAL PLEADS TO THEFT

A former president of the Black River Falls Downtown Association has pleaded no contest to a charge that he stole $2,500 from the organization.Darren Durman, 38, of Black River Falls was charged with felony theft May 5 in Jackson County Circuit Court.
Durman has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft as part of an agreement with the district attorney?s office. His record will be cleared if he complies with the terms of the agreement.
Durman obtained a debit card in the association?s name and wrote checks to himself while on the board of directors in 2009. He resigned from that post early this year.
