AG INNOVATION CENTER HIRES DIRECTOR

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 -- 2:07 PM

The group that's spearheading a proposed agribusiness park and farm innovation center in northern Clark County has a new leader.

Mike Kawleski has been hired as the executive director of the Owen-based Central Wisconsin Agribusiness Innovation Center. The CWAIC's board is currently raising funds to help finance the project.

Kawleski told Wisconsin Ag Connection that he has three primary rolls in his new position: to raise money for the project, promote the project and find tenants.

Kawleski has served as the agribusiness marketing leader for Wisconsin Public Service for the past six years.

The proposed park will be made up of 71 acres of vacant farmland that was acquired by the city through a land-swap agreement with Clark County. As part of the plan, the group wants to construct a $7.5-millioin, 52,000 square-foot Ag Innovation Center.
