Things are looking up for a Neillsville industrial park business.Fabricating Specialists didn?t pick the best time to get started: their plant here opened in fall of 2008 as the economy was tanking. Still, their first year was good, and the current year is looking even better.
"We are about 30% ahead of our projections already this year, which is great," states company GM Jim Grunewald. "We are trending upward on a real significant trend."
Fabricating Specialists currently employs 22 full-timers, and around 8 part-timers. They have plans to add more jobs this year.
"Our plan is to work the folks that we have until we know we're at a new level of business activity, then we'll move more of those folks over to full-time," he explains.
The plant does tube-bending and fabricating work and produces products like structural tubing for railings, radiator cooler tubes and air-intake tubes. Many of their customers were laying low in 2009, using existing inventory. Now things have picked up significantly, Grunewald say.
The company?s goal is to have 53 full-time employees by the end of 2011.
