Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 -- 11:29 AM
A bank was robbed in Colby yesterday afternoon, and authorities have a suspect in custody.Authorities say 54-year-old Lawrence LaCount was wearing a surgical mask when he entered Mid Wisconsin Bank just after noon yesterday.
He approached the teller window and demanded money. He then left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Quick-thinking bank employees were able to get his license plate number as he left.
A police officer later spotted his vehicle on the north side of Marshfield and took the man into custody.
Police say LaCount is from the Green Bay area.
The robbery is still under investigation by the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department, and the Clark County Sheriff's Department. Clark County Assistant District Attorney Richard Lewis says he plans to file charges against La County either Wednesday afternoon or on Thursday.
